Terms & Conditions
Important information about using the Mente Mirror website, mobile experience and professional services.
Last updated: 30 August 2026
1. Overview
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of the Mente Mirror website and, where available, Mente Mirror services including the mobile app, AI-supported wellness features, optional wearable integrations, self-assessment tools, psychological testing and Human Care services provided by psychologists, counsellors and psychiatrists.
By using this website, you agree to these Terms. Particular services may also require separate registration, consent, payment terms or professional-service documentation before they can be used. If a service-specific consent or policy applies, it should be read together with these Terms.
2. What Mente Mirror is — and is not
Mente Mirror combines preventive and personalised mental-wellness support with psychological science, technology-enabled tools and access to human professionals. Website content, self-assessments, AI-supported wellness features and wearable insights are intended to support reflection and wellbeing; they are not a diagnosis and do not replace professional psychological or medical evaluation.
Clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment and medication decisions are made only by appropriately qualified professionals within the scope of their role. Individual outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Mente Mirror is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent mental-health support, use the urgent-help resources rather than waiting for a routine Mente Mirror response.
3. Adults, children and adolescents
Adults aged 18 years or older may consent to services for themselves, subject to the requirements of the particular service.
Children and adolescents under 18 may use age-appropriate Mente Mirror services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required. The professional or Mente Mirror team should explain the expected role of the parent or guardian, the young person's participation, and any service-specific consent requirements before care begins.
Parent or guardian consent does not automatically mean that every detail shared by a young person in a professional session will be disclosed to the parent or guardian. Confidentiality, information sharing and parental involvement will depend on the young person's age and circumstances, professional judgement, safety considerations and applicable law. Where there is a serious safety concern or a legal obligation to disclose information, confidentiality may be limited.
4. Human Care and professional services
Mente Mirror Human Care may include counselling, psychological assessment and psychiatric consultation. The professional will use their judgement to understand the concern, discuss goals and determine an appropriate care pathway. A counselling session is generally planned for approximately 45 minutes unless a different duration is communicated for the particular service.
Psychological or psychometric tests are interpreted in the context of the person's history and other relevant information. A test score or report should not be treated in isolation as a medical or psychiatric diagnosis. Unless explicitly agreed otherwise for an appropriate purpose, Mente Mirror psychological test reports are not intended for medico-legal use.
You may discuss discontinuing counselling or changing professionals with the Mente Mirror team or your professional at any time. The availability of a particular professional or time slot can vary.
5. Website, mobile app and appointment booking
The Mente Mirror website is primarily an information and guidance experience. The website itself does not provide appointment booking. Appointment booking is designed to be completed through the Mente Mirror mobile app when that functionality is released and available to you.
The mobile app is being introduced separately from the website, so availability may differ during the MVP and release stages. Website contact channels may be used for questions, programme information and support, but should not be interpreted as an in-browser appointment-booking system.
6. Fees, payments, cancellations and rescheduling
Published fees and programme structures are provided for information and may be updated. Where appointment booking or payment is enabled, the applicable amount and payment requirements should be reviewed before completing the transaction.
Cancellation, rescheduling and refund rules are described in the Cancellation/Refund Policy. If a scheduled session is affected by an unforeseen circumstance or technical failure, the Mente Mirror team will communicate the available next step.
7. Privacy, confidentiality and recording
Mente Mirror's Safety & Privacy page forms part of the information you should read when using Mente Mirror services. It explains, in plain language, the types of information that may be requested, why information may be used, and the choices that apply to optional digital or wearable features.
Professional counselling and care information is treated as confidential, subject to professional obligations, applicable law and limited situations in which safety may require action.
Counselling sessions are not recorded by default. If a Mente Mirror feature involves voice or video recording, a separate and explicit permission should be requested before that recording begins. Users should not record a professional session, invite another person into a session, or permit a third party to listen without the knowledge and agreement of the professional and other participants.
Information may be shared only to the extent needed to provide or support the requested service, where the user or guardian has provided the relevant permission, where appropriate professionals need information for the agreed care pathway, where service providers are required to operate the service under appropriate safeguards, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary because of a serious safety concern.
8. AI-supported wellness and wearable features
Mjuzi and other AI-supported wellness features are designed to support reflection, check-ins and everyday wellbeing. AI-generated content can be incomplete or incorrect and should not be treated as professional diagnosis, medical advice or emergency guidance.
Wearable or sensor information is optional and is used only when a supported feature is connected or enabled. Wearable signals can provide contextual wellness information but do not independently establish a diagnosis or clinical condition.
9. Online sessions, devices and technical limitations
Internet-based communication cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure or uninterrupted. For online professional sessions, use a private space, a device you trust and a reliable connection where possible. Third-party communication or payment services may also have their own terms and privacy practices.
Technical problems can occur. If a professional session is disrupted and cannot reasonably continue, the Mente Mirror team or professional will communicate an appropriate rescheduling or follow-up process.
10. Responsible use
You agree not to misuse the website, mobile app or services; attempt unauthorised access; interfere with service operation; impersonate another person; submit unlawful or harmful material; or use Mente Mirror content in a way that infringes the rights of Mente Mirror, its professionals or other users.
You are responsible for protecting access to your own device, account credentials and payment credentials and for providing information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge when that information is needed to deliver a service safely.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the website design, Mente Mirror branding, original written material, frameworks and other proprietary content are owned by or licensed to Mente Mirror. They may not be copied, republished or commercially exploited without appropriate permission, except where permitted by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
Mente Mirror may update these Terms as its services, technology, app availability or policies change. The current version published on the website will apply from the date shown on this page.
